Fleet Champions Program

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is pleased to announce the Fleet Champions Program (FCP) a program specific to British Columbia to support the West Coast Electric Fleet (WCEF) initiative.

Funded by the Province of British Columbia and administered by FBC, the program supports fleets in British Columbia in their efforts toward deploying clean energy vehicles by offering technical and financial support in two areas:

1. EV Fleet Business Case: Applications for the EV suitability assessment with FleetCarma are now closed. Here is the high-level aggregate summary of 12 fleets who participated: see results.

Fleets can also access free EV suitability assessment tools to help with their procurement plans. These analyses can help fleet managers understand the costs and savings of adopting EVs. See the Business Case Assessment page for more information on how to participate in this program. This opportunity is only available to BC FCP participants (BC-based fleets that sign the WCEF pledge).


2. Charging Infrastructure Incentives: Applications for charging incentives are now closed. Fleets could apply for a rebate of 33%, up to $2,000 on the purchase and installation of a Level 2 charging station. Fleets may also qualify for a free site assessment to understand charging needs and options. See the Charging Infrastructure Incentives page for more information and how to apply. This opportunity is only available to BC FCP participants (BC-based fleets that sign the WCEF pledge).



FCP funding opportunities (business case assessment and infrastructure incentives) are restricted to participants in the BC Fleet Champions Program. Fleets based in British Columbia can become a BC Fleet Champions Program participant for free by signing onto the WCEF pledge — On-Ramp, Highway, or Express Lane. All BC-based fleets who have taken the pledge will be automatically considered as Fleet Champion Program participants. Participating fleets must be a business, non-profit, or public entity that is based in BC or has a BC-based affiliate. All businesses must be licensed to operate in BC. A valid BC business license must be provided upon request.

Additional Training and Support

WCEF is an initiative of the Pacific Coast Collaborative (PCC), a joint initiative of California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia to accelerate a vibrant, low-carbon economy on the West Coast. Access to the WCEF Toolkit and webinars are available to all fleets.

Fleets are encouraged to sign up for the WCEF newsletter, to receive notification of upcoming training and informational webinars, and for news and information related to EV adoption in fleets. Additional guidance will be available for FCP participants, with particular focus on life-cycle cost calculators and other beneficial tools.
